Lamb was active in Off-Broadway and regional theater as a stage and production manager, and as a supporting actor. He was also an aspiring playwright in those venues. He was a stage manager for the 1970-1971 Broadway productions of Frank Merriwell and Harvey, the latter starring Jimmy Stewart and Helen Hayes; show theme does not start until after the 2:00 mark
