Haring was primarily a detective story writer who moved to Australia after WW2 and was one of the writers for the Larry Kent detective pulps there, writing about a novel a month. As a pulp writer, Haring also used the pseudonyms "Clay Anthony," "Sam Bradford," "Larry Kent," and "Brett Waring." In an op-ed in Variety, he claimed to have written more than 3,000 radio scripts, mainly in Australia, and directed about 1,500 radio productions.
